Frequently asked questions
How many guests can I have?
By law, each cottage has a maximum of 6 guests, including children/toddlers.
Are the cottages owner by a corporation?
No! In fact, all of our cottages are owned individually and used by the homeowners as their own cottages when not rented out.
What is your booking policy?
Making Your Reservation
All renters must have a valid credit card for their rental stay and any additional costs incurred during their stay. We accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.
- The minimum age to rent a cottage is 25 years.
- Maximum cottage occupancy is 6 people (including children). Cottages are designed to comfortably sleep 4 people in bedrooms. Most cottages are furnished with a sofa bed which allows for a maximum occupancy of 6 people.
- While some cottages have lofts, these are NOT available for renter use.
- Sheds of closets with padlocks are also not available for renter use.
- There is a minimum stay of 3 nights in peak season.
- Rates are subject to a Resort Fee of $42.00 per day.
- A Pet Fee of $150.00 will apply for each pet per stay (maximum 2 pets).
- A cleaning fee plus HST will be applied to each reservation. This is determined by the property you have rented and its size/amenities and will be listed in the pricing breakdown of your reservation.
- Rates are subject to a Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) of 4%, HST of 13%, and a credit card fee of 3.5%.
Deposits and Payments
For bookings made 61 days or more before arrival, a deposit of 50% of the total Published Rate is required before the reservation can be fully confirmed. The full balance is due 60 days before arrival and will be automatically charged to the credit card on file unless otherwise arranged.
For bookings made 60 days or fewer before arrival, 100% of the total reservation cost is required before the reservation can be confirmed. Large group rentals (organized groups and teams) are at the discretion of the Manager.
What is your cancellation policy?
- For cancellations 61 days or more before arrival, a full refund will be provided.
- For cancellations 31-60 days before arrival, a 50% refund will be provided.
- For cancellations 30 days or less before arrival there are no refunds.
We offer Trip Cancellation Insurance through RentalGuardian. Please see this website in order to determine eligibility or purchase insurance to protect your stay against unforeseen personal circumstances or weather delaying travel:

What are the check-in/check-out times?
Checking In
Check-in time begins at 4:00PM.
PEAK season front desk hours are Monday to Sunday, 8:00AM to 7:00PM.
SHOULDER season front desk hours are Monday to Sunday, 9:00AM to 6:00PM.
If you are arriving outside of these hours, please call us at least 24 hours in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements for you to gain access to the property and the cottage.
Checking Out
Check-out time ends at 10:00AM.
All renters must check out upon departure to pay any unpaid costs and return cottage keys, property and amenity access keys, parking permits, and Sandbanks pass.
